Part IV: The Decision

Previously:

"Gilgamesh?! YOU FUCKING SCARED ME" you scolded him. He didn't say anything at all.

"And stop calling him a faker!! He has proven himself to be a better Servant than you! What have you done so far huh? All you do is rest, drink and oppose me! How about you go and show us your all mighty power instead of badmouthing Archer?" You yelled...again...you didn't want to do so but something inside you was causing you to be this aggressive...Usually you would have ignored him or Archer but now...

Gilgamesh gave you an expression which you couldn't read at all. And just like that he disappeared , leaving golden dust behind him.

"UUUUUGGGGHHH WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME TODAY?" You said kneeling down in despair. You didn't recognise yourself today.

Meanwhile...
"Yes master. Everything is going according to plan..." reported an unknown figure who was watching you outside the window.

And just like that you were now sitting all alone. It was like you were left off with no servants at all. You knew that Archer was somewhere in the mansion but you had no idea about Gilgamesh's whereabouts. You wanted to summon him by using a Command Seal but you wanted to give him some space, especially after the shitty way you treated him. On top of that you had the Grail War.

According to Archer, two servants were out. You didn't know which ones though. But thinking about the Grail War was kind of pointless since you were now practicly left with just your powers. Both of your servants wouldn't listen to you, not of their own free will at least. You didn't want to use a Command Seal and make them do something against their will either.
And so you made the decision of making up with Archer first, since he was easier to locate.

While you were searching for him in the mansion you were thinking of everything that occured earlier today. "Now that I think about it... Archer was sleeping too...So I guess both of them wanted to help me restore my mana..." you muttered to yourself "and that's how I repay them..."

Being busy overthinking and overanalyzing things you failed to notice Archer at the end of the corridor. He was looking outside the window as the water drops were visible on the window. Once again you came across this wide back of his, you couldn't see his face which might have been for the best. You wouldn't be able to apologise if he was sending daggers at you with his frown face.

"ermm..." you looked down at your hands which instigated your guilt "I wanted to apologise for earlier and to thank you for your hard work...I mean killing those Servants"

"You don't need to apologise, master" he emphasized the last part, adding sarcasm to it "and more importantly you don't need to thank a faker"

His words were hurting you, reminding you of your behaviour earlier. Archer wouldn't turn to look at you. You were just staring at his back in regret.

"Archer...I..." you went to say as you took a step closer to him but he stopped you.

"You shouldn't get emotionally attached to your Servants" he stated coldly.

"Stop calling yourself a servant and a faker.." you mumbled which caused him to turn around.

You averted your eyes from him. "what did you say?" he asked as his voice softened.

You looked at him once again and you could see pain in his eyes. You took a deep breath and you let out: "STOP CALLING YOURSELF A SERVANT AND A FAKER. YOU ARE NEITHER OF THESE. YOU AND GILGAMESH ARE MY COMRADES AND WE WILL WIN THE HOLY GRAIL WAR TOGETHER" you raised your voice as tears came streaming down your face.

Archer's expression softened and he let out a chuckle. "You are naive...as expected of my master" he brought his right hand on his hip as he was talking. The atmosphere had gotten lighter and less negative than before, until Archer became serious again. "But you do realise that sooner or later you'll have to choose...me or Gilgam-"

As Archer was talking you felt dizzy again, it was as if someone was draining energy from you, or more like mana. You fell down on your knees unable to stand and you looked at your hand with Gilgamesh's seal on it. "G-Gilgamesh...what i-is going on" you cupped your face. Meanwhile as Archer worried about your safety he rushed off to your side but as he was nearing in, closing the distance between you two, the ceiling in the middle started to fall apart which blocked Archer's way of reaching you.

Suddenly a familiar form appeared before you. "I will now be taking your master" she addressed to Archer as you were still on your knees unable to get up and fight back.

"After your previous loss you dare attack us again, Caster?" Archer growled as he was in a tight spot and probably unable to save his master. Without putting any second thought on it, Archer attacked head on the enemy servant.

They started fighting but you couldn't make a lot out of what was happening as you were in pain and losing your senses. You were worried for both Archer and Gilgamesh at the same time. You knew Archer's situation but you had no idea of what had become of your other servant. Luckily you were sure that he was still alive, otherwise his seal would have vanished.

As you were trying to pull yourself together you heard a voice inside your head. You knew that voice pretty well.

"h-hey mongrel...can you hear me? I know that I am putting a strain on you right now but I am in a really tight situation. Yes, it can happen even to a King like myself. I am not asking you to supply me with any more mana, I have enough stored to beat them. They are just small fries after all. I am just communicating with you to let you know that after I am done with these only Caster is left. That faker should be able to take her out by himself, not as easily as I would, but he should pull it off. He better protect you because otherwise I will kill him myself...well that's if I survive with enough mana. By the way... just so you know you are entertaining...." without allowing you to speak he cut off. You were speechless. Were those his last words? What is he planning on doing?

"Gilgamesh?...Can you hear me? GILGAMESH!!!" you screamed at the top of your lungs. You started crying afraid of losing your Servant.

Archer noticed- or more like his attention was turned to you- which made him unable to avoid the attack coming from Caster. As a result he fell on the ground. His injury was fatal. He was out of mana too, just like Gilgamesh. He was on the ground which had turned red by now, the same red as his blood. Caster was injured too from the fight but she could deliver the final blow just fine.  It didn't take you long enough to notice how wounded your second servant was. You were in despair. You had to help them but your amount of mana wasn't enough for both. That was when you knew...the time had come...what you had been delaying for so long could no longer be postponed...you had to decide...it was about time you made a decision.

Archer....
or
Gilgamesh...

Who would you save?

To be continued...
